Fond and Fancy
03:19
|
|||
You should know the way I feel, it's like a spell, some devil's deal,
Not made in haste with passions fire, but made with love and real desire,
More like a prayer, some answered plea that you should choose to be with me.
You should know the way I feel, it's like a dream only its real,
and every day I thank my stars, I'll end the day in your arms

The Devil's Fountain
04:27
|
|||
So I have heard, there is a fountain, it's rumoured to be where the Devil first wept. Sprung from a tear, the water is cool and clear, dark as the night it's impossible depths.
None taste the water since the Kings daughter leapt after her lover and never was seen. Most fear she died. Others say she survived held by the devil who made her his queen.
There is a tale of a travelling singer, the ring from her finger was washed clean away. It left not a trace but a silver coin in it's place, dropped by the singer its there to this day.
One story goes the fountain's where all storms grow. One tells of thunder and showers of hale, of lightning and rain, winds strong as a hurricane. Weather the Devil has sent here from hell.
Once I was told the alchemy to make gold. Told by the fountain by men that I knew. The first never tried. The second did and cruelly died. The third hid his gold where an apple tree grew.
All that I know only white flowers grow and bloom on the fountain twelve months of the year but what I have seen is colours white gold and green found by the fountain that sprung from a tear.

Cabbage White
03:21
|
|||
Cabbage white clouds fly beneath the autumn sky, between the cosmos and I,
Cabbage white lamp light replicating natural light, help illuminate the dark of the winter night
Emptiness is whiter, as blank as printer paper, as blank as printer paper.
Cabbage white paint dries in the likeness of your eyes, it's not a very good likeness though I did try.
Cabbage white butterflies decorate the summer skies contemplate the cosmos and I.

He Wren
03:19
|
|||
Here's a wren called melody died,
He's a friend, a visitor from the void,
He'll read your tea and then leave,
Much was said and much was done,
He's a friend, he'll do anything for anyone,
Now he never has to leave,
He's a disease, Please leave me.
He's not the best at the courtly stuff,
He's a jester trying barely hard enough,
I think I'd like you to leave,
Don't make this harder than it needs to be,
Jesus wept, I'm trying to make it easy,
Now I'd like you to leave,
He's a disease, Please leave me.
Please just leave, Please just leave,
Hidden whispers in all of our ears,
Those that listen, those that can't help but hear,
He whines like a bitch, then he leaves,
Hang around son, and see it unfold,
He's a gambler, a fighter, a boxer, I'm told
We're all very scared, Now just leave.
He's a disease, Please leave me.

The Three Ravens
03:54
|
|||
There were three ravens sat on a tree, they were as black as they might be,
One of them said to his mate where shall we now our breakfast take.
Down in yonder deep green fields, there lies a knight slain under his shield
His hounds they lie down at his feet, so well do they their master keep,
His hawks they fly so eagerly, no fowl dare to come him near,
Down there comes a fallow doe as great with young as she might go
She's lifted up his bloody head, she's licked the wounds that are so red,
She's got him up upon his back and carried him to Earthen lake,
He was dead before the prime, oh derry, she was dead herself ere evensong time, god send every gentlemen such hawks, such hounds and such a lover.

The Blaggard Blackbird
02:53
|
|||
"Mmmm" said the bird to the worm in the earth, "often this way I do pass
and often before, I have knocked, what is more, on your door, with my claw, through the grass"
"Oh" said the worm from his home in the loam, " sounds like the drumming of rain, I'll get my coat grab my hat, have a smoke", what he spoke, was a quote, quite profane.
Beware the blaggard blackbird he is a crafty foe,
More mischievous than the magpie,
More cunning than the crow.

Neither Lonely
04:43
|
|||
Hide the kings interest from the most powerful piece the pawn, don't worry for the queen she's neither lonely nor forlorn, she knew from the start, his was only ever a temporary part.
It's in his nature he's a very loving man, the queen hid from the pawns what they could never understand, She knew from the start, his was already a full to bursting heart.
It's not for you to think of, and I guess we'll never know, the king and queen are happy with this broken status quo, she sees from afar his was always just a temporary part.

We Could be Strangers
03:02
|
|||
I really hate that trouble greets me like an old friend,
courts me like a lover, how I hope it never ends. We could be strangers.
Well trouble both finds and follows, leads me into danger, tugs at my skirts, how I hope it never ends. The odds are against it.
Troubles unwelcome company, we were just dreaming, it was a fantasy, weren't we though.
I wouldn't mind if trouble were offset by some kind of pleasure, something to keep and to treasure, How i hope it never ends. We could be strangers.
Troubles unwelcome company, we were just dreaming, it was a fantasy, weren't we though.
Trouble is unwelcome company.
Troubles unwelcome company, we were just dreaming, it was a fantasy.

Will you go to the rolling of the stones, the playing of the games, or will you go and see pretty Suzie dance among the maids?
I will not go to the rolling of the stones the tossing of the ball, but I will go and see pretty Suzie dance among them all,
They had not danced one single dance, not once nor twice around when the sword that hung down by Bells side had given him his death wound,
They took him up ,they carried him out for he was in distress the took him down by the green wood side and there laid him to rest,
Will you drink of the blood the white wine and the red, or will you go and see pretty Suzie when that I am dead
Suzie charmed the birds from the sky the fish from out the bay and there she lay in her own true loves arms and there was content to stay and there was content to stay.

I may not see you for a while,
I may not see you for a while,
I never saw you everyday, never saw enough of you anyway, but I will think of you everyday,
I may not see you for a while,
I may not hear from you for a while,
I may not hear you, for a while,
Strangely I can still hear you sing, sometimes your voice is louder than everything, be sure to know I'm still listening,
I may not hear you for a while,
I heard you won't be around for a while,
I heard you won't be around for a while,
I never saw you everyday, never saw enough of you anyway, but I will think of you, for a while everyday,
I heard you won't be around for a while.
